I am always amazed by the structure of plants. Today my husband took this picture of one of the tulips sitting on the kitchen table. It reminded me of the word brilliance. Which in turn took to the word shining for a brief moment in time.

Unfolding,
a new life emerges
undiscovered
unnoticed
sheltered beneath
paper-thin pedals
so tender, fragile, and brilliant.
For a brief moment
it opens and exposes its essence
and shines with splendor and grace
bringing such undescribable
peace and joy
and radiant beauty.
