Sunday April 7
Poems come
when I least
expect them
swelling inside
my head.
Small signs
of joy
maybe sadness
tugging at my heart.
Simple words
heal my soul
giving life
to my imagination.
Darn ole crows
black suits
blue sheen dresses
shining and strutting
across the lawn --
caw, caw, caw, caw, caw, caw, caw
wake me in the early morning
high above the trees
outside my bedroom window.
GO AWAY!!!!!
This drawing and poem are a perfect pair. And I understand the sentiment too...except for us right now, it's the starlings.
ReplyDeleteHave you thought about linking in to the Poetry Friday group? All you need to do is take the logo from my post or anywhere...put it atop a Friday poem post, and then link your link into whomever is hosting that week. You can see hosters in my sidebar. Then, if you like, you can include the hosting list in your sidebar too. It's a great way to be linked into the Poetry Friday group - such a nice and welcoming and fun group of people! We would love to have you with us! a.
